The indigenous people have longed been struggled in our society ever since the Spanish and the Americans started colonizing the Philippines. This led to the reduction of their resources to losing their lands as they have been living there for generations. In the 13th century when the Spanish colonizers arrived in the Philippines they have been started already too settled and grow a community that was organized to build towns under the rule of the Spanish colonial government and the Catholic Church. This led to the natives of the Philippines who are living in these places were disposed of, stolen, and strip by their land.

    When the U.S came they held a law in which they implemented a series of land laws to govern these public lands. This law would state that if the land is considered to be uncultivated and unoccupied public lands that could be classified as agricultural lands, can be given or be distributed to the people who are wanted to use it including the U.S citizens. These agricultural lands that they classified are covered the ancestral domains of indigenous peoples.

    This isn’t the only problem that the indigenous people are having. They also get discrimination from other people of their own race, being left out or underdevelop, poverty, human rights, and many more depending on what place they are living.

    In this modern world year 2021 must have been a struggle, especially for the indigenous people. In order to help them, we must give them some opportunities that can help them in society. We could also teach them what we learn in education and we could also help them with their basic needs. The right and the development for the indigenous people.
